Sonia Friedman Productions (SFP) is a West End and Broadway production company responsible for some of the most successful theatre productions over the past few years. Since 1990, SFP has developed, initiated and produced over 150 new productions and has won numerous Olivier and Tony Award. In 2014 SFP won a record-breaking 14 at the Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical, Best New Play and Best Revival of a Musical and Best Revival of a Play. In 2015, Sonia Friedman won Producer of the Year at The Stage Awards and was listed as no.3 on The Stage 100, as well as winning 6 Olivier Awards, including Best New Play for King Charles III and Best New Musical for Sunny Afternoon which SFP commissioned and developed. In 2016, Sonia rose to no. 2 on The Stage 100 and will defend her title of Producer of the Year at The Stage Awards 2016.

Current and recent productions include Lyndsey Turner’s production of Hamlet with Benedict Cumberbatch (Barbican 2015) and Bend It Like Beckham – The Musical. Sonia will also collaborate with J. K. Rowling on a new stage play to be based on the Harry Potter stories in co-production with Colin Callender with previews due to begin on the West End from May 2016.

Other SFP West End and Broadway productions include the UK premiere of The Book of Mormon, Shakespeare in Love, The Nether, Mojo, Chimerica, Twelfth Night, Richard III and 1984.  Current television productions include the television adaptation of Ronald Harwood’s The Dresser starring Anthony Hopkins and Ian McKellen, to be directed by Richard Eyre for the BBC.
