History:

  • The Fortune was the first London theatre to be built after World War I.
  • The theatre has seen many celebrated actors and actresses perform on its stage including Dame Judi Dench, Dirk Bogarde and Maureen Lipman, as well as the ground-breaking revue Beyond the Fringe with Alan Bennett, Peter Cook, Dudley Moore and Jonathan Miller.
  • The Fortune Theatre is most closely associated with its current production ‘The Woman in Black’ which has become a West End legend and will be celebrating its 30th Birthday this year!
