History:

  • The Grade II listed Bristol Hippodrome is a superb example of the grand theatre architecture of the Edwardian era and was the last of many theatres designed by the great Frank Matcham.
  • It is a must-visit venue for major West End musicals. The Lion King started its regional tour at the Bristol Hippodrome in 2012 as well as Mary Poppins in 2004. Recent West End musicals presented at the theatre include The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and Oliver! Ghost, Cabaret, Cats, Thriller and the pantomime Cinderella are scheduled for coming months.
