Bristol Hippodrome

Opened: 1912
Capacity: 1,951 seats

  • The Grade II listed Bristol Hippodrome is a superb example of the grand theatre architecture of the Edwardian era and was the last of many theatres designed by the great Frank Matcham.
  • It is a must-visit venue for major West End musicals. The Lion King started its regional tour at the Bristol Hippodrome in 2012 as well as the world premiere of Mary Poppins in 2004. We are looking forward to opening the upcoming tour of Wicked in January next year.

As well as the main auditorium the Bristol Hippodrome has two bar areas available for hire that can hold up to 50 guests. The auditorium is ideal for conferences, performances and filming. Bristol Hippodrome is licensed for civil weddings allowing you to add a touch of the theatrical to your wedding day and be married on the stage.
