  • Grade II listed Liverpool Empire is one the largest two-tier theatres in the UK, prominently situated on Lime Street.
  • It underwent a major refurbishment in 1998 with the addition of new public areas and a greatly enlarged stage.
  • Throughout the twentieth century, the theatre played host to a series of legendary entertainers including Laurel and Hardy, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Julie Andrews and The Beatles.
  • In recent years the theatre has continued its tradition of popular entertainment with blockbuster musicals such as The Phantom of the Opera, Blood Brothers, Cats and Les Miserables as well as comedians such as Billy Connolly, Bill Bailey and Michael McIntyre and popular music acts including Paloma Faith, Tony Bennett, Will Young, and English National Ballet’s The Nutcracker.
